The Power of Psalm 91

Thank you so much for your support of our music and being a Fan of Love of Jesus on Jango Internet Radio!

It means a great deal to know that Psalm 91 for Today is being played all around the world and to God be all the glory!

Bob and I pray wherever you live and whatever you do, that you know the amazing, endless peace that only comes from our awesome Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

As Jesus says in John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you.

Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

We don’t know what troubles and persecution you are facing in your everyday life but just know that we are praying for you.

God is greater than anything this world can throw at us, he is greater than your worst enemy. Jesus said he would never leave you nor forsake you so trust him to deliver you out of your circumstances.

Then do what Paul and Silas did when they were stuck in prison – praise and worship him with all your heart!

I find it’s in those times of turmoil, when it’s just too hard that praising and worshiping God will see mountains move.

As we tread along that lonely narrow path, we look up to see the glory of God at work in our lives.

We dwell in that secret place of the Most High and we abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

God is our refuge and our fortress, in Him we trust.

Keep looking up!

Aren’t we living in interesting times?  It always amazes me that we are chosen for these days.   There are times when I pine for the ‘old days’ when life appeared to be simpler, although I tend to think that there were many struggles and hardships that presented their own challenges to those generations and it was not always as rosy as the TV shows and movies would have us think.   So, instead of looking wistfully back, I have chosen to do what Jesus said and when I hear of wars and rumours of wars and see so many changes happening around me, I keep looking up as our redemption draws near.  No-one knows the day or the time but it could be any minute now so I want to make sure I am ready.

Thank God for Jesus and his awesome sacrifice which gives every human being the choice to walk with him on this earth in spirit or try and go it alone.  I love the footsteps poster where Jesus is carrying us during the tough times and this is so true of today.  The more events unfold around us the closer I cling to him, knowing that he said he will never leave us nor forsake us.  I am never alone and this gives me more comfort than I can ever express.

We all struggle at times with emotional and/or physical issues – may I reach out to you and encourage you to hand them over to Jesus, he knows you better than you do yourself and he loves you with a love we cannot measure.  No matter what you are going through, there is a way through it with Jesus by your side. Even if you don’t know him he knows you and do you know that if you were the only person on the face of this earth Jesus would have laid his life down to save you.  I’ve given up trying to imagine how much someone could love me to do that for me, I am just eternally grateful for Jesus and his precious sacrifice so we can walk in victory on this earth.

There is a Way

There is a Way in Jesus

Greetings from a rather soggy, drying out Queensland.

Hope you like the latest song There is a Way.

I am just so glad we have the word of God to give us our boundaries, our direction, our anchor. As Bob and I were outside our house sweeping water away (for the 4th time since we have lived here) it was God’s words we spoke against the broken levy and water, water, everywhere. As we swept as fast as we could we did what God’s word says to do and what Jesus taught us to do and spoke to the mountain of water. Our words were drowned out by the noise of the rain hammering on the patio roof (18” in 7 hours) but we spoke to the screaming rain, the lightning and the roaring thunder. The water was phenomenal, so powerful, so huge. As tears streamed down my exhausted face I turned around to see two strangers standing there holding shovels. That was just what we needed to fix the levy and managed to re-direct the water and once again save the house. We had lakes of water everywhere, the property above us, the one beneath but God’s word is all powerful. When we continue to put it in our eyes and our ears and then speak it out of our mouths in faith there is nothing in this universe that can overpower it. I am so, so grateful to know the Lord and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. God has such mercy!

Bob and I are no strangers to strange weather. We were one month from getting married in 1980 and lived in a small mining town called Goldsworthy in the north of Western Australia. (It’s where we met – this young woman from New Zealand on an adventure, and boy did I find it!) In January 1980 and within approx 8 weeks the town suffered three cyclones, the first one had gusts over 320km/hr and then two more devastating cyclones in the following weeks which caused substantial damage to the mining business. I will always remember the moment when the radio broadcaster said that Cyclone Amy was heading directly for Goldsworthy and said God bless the people of Goldsworthy, our thoughts are with you. I looked at Bob and asked him if he thought it would hit us. He looked me straight in the eye and said it is going to hit us. At that moment I felt fear fill my stomach and the tears burning at the back of my eyes. Later I can remember lying under a mattress in the small hallway of this small unit we were living in, the roof was gone and pieces of equipment and parts of buildings had smashed into our building. We spent 18 hours huddled under a sodden mattress while the world about us went mad. It wasn’t till we started praying the Lord’s prayer that an amazing peace came over us. Despite the terror and violence happening around us we knew we were going to be OK.

Just recently we brought out the old photos and there was one that grabbed my attention. It shows a lamp post (made of two railway lines welded together) precariously poised to fall on our unit. I’m convinced that God’s angels held back the post that night and only had that revelation 32 years later!

So, even before we knew the Lord as we do now, and walking in victory every day (sometimes crawling …..!) his word saved us, of that I have no doubt. Perhaps it was to see us today recording music in his name and for his glory.

So how do we get through these times, how do we stay strong? God’s word will get us through these times and we can glorify God that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. His burden is light so give him yours – he’s taken it anyway that awesome day he laid down his life for you and me on the cross. He took our sins, our sickness and our poverty. I love our daughters more than I can put into words. Our father gave his only begotten son for me and you, for all mankind. Gratitude cannot be put into words and as Jesus said we are to worship God in spirit and truth so I don’t believe there exists words of gratitude big enough to thank him. Walking in the power of the Holy Spirit is beyond this world and truly where we live in the Kingdom of God on this earth.

So enjoy the song, it comes with much love and gratitude for such an awesome God who brought together two people who can in some way touch our world and bring some peace and refreshment through our music. I asked Bob to show me how to upload blogs so now that I know, I’ll aim to update it weekly.

Psalm 91

Hi everyone,

We’re really excited about our new single Psalm 91.  Bob and I have been working on this mighty but musically daunting scripture for quite a while (some would say years)!!!

We hope you enjoy it.  It’s a little more produced than our previous “Songs of Victory” album.  It was a lot of fun doing harmonies and backing tracks with different guitars and sounds.

If you haven’t heard it yet listen on youtube:

Leave a comment. We’d love to hear from you.

All the best till next time.

Hosanna in the Highest

What a wonderful gift God has given us – the gift of praise, when we open our mouths and let our spirits praise and worship our creator in word and song.

Do you ever stop and think what life would have been like without the sin of Adam and Eve. I used to. I used to think how good it could have been and why do we have to go through all the trials and tribulations on this earth. What’s the point? Is there a point? Yes.

What God has done for us is absolutely amazing. He, unlike a lot of human beings in high places on this earth, has given us a choice. We can choose to spend time with him. We can choose to give our lives to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. We can choose to obey his commandments – including the commandment from Jesus to walk in love. We can choose to put our past poor decisions behind us and begin to walk in victory. We can choose to renounce the past and move forward as brand new creations in Jesus Christ. We can choose to live the good news and we can choose to praise God in song.

So why write a song about Hosanna in the Highest and other songs of praise, worship and victory? Well, the truth is that I always experience such peace when praising God, when giving time in my day to our creator. It truly is the most wonderful moment when I realise yet again what’s important. I say yet again as the cares of this world do overwhelm me at times and it’s not until I’m in that awesome safe place of worship that the problems, and at times feelings of helplessness, just melt away. It is so refreshing and empowering.

I remember in the early days as a newbie born again in Jesus Christ and asking different believers how do I build my faith? The answers never came and it really frustrated me for years. Then I met a wonderful lady who taught me the difference between the bible translations and introduced me to the King James bible. Once I began to read the real word of God I remember the thrill when there it was in front of me – Romans 10:17 – faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. I pulled each and every word apart and looked it up in the dictionary. Then I split the sentence and read it like this – faith comes by hearing. Mull on that – hearing what? Hearing by the word of God. Did you get it? Faith comes by hearing – reading the word. Hearing by the word of God – we hear spiritually through God’s word. So when we read the bible and let the Holy Spirit guide us into all truth our faith grows. Pure and simple. No mystery, the more we read the word the more our faith grows. There is nothing more powerful than faith-filled praise and worship in music, especially when it contains God’s word like Psalm 91 and The Lord’s Prayer.

There has been research done on the effect of music on our bodies and it is proven that the frequencies emitted from music have a very real effect on us. When you combine the living word of God with faith filled anointed music something special happens. All thanks, praise, honor and glory to you Father for Hosanna in the Highest and the priceless gift of praise.
